Goalkeepers

Bardi has been our main goalkeeper. While he were fine, he played all matches. Hansson has only played one match (the last matchday) and Gütor has spent a clean season despite his attributes improvement.

What will we do? If Gutor and Hansson don’t want to leave club, we retain both for the next season. I’m not worried about goalkeepers right now.

Defenders

In the right flank, Berardi has been a great substitute of Byram but he only played 8 matches and he wants to be more important. If he wants to stay with us, we’ll be delighted to count on him. In the middle we have more doubts. Bellusci, Pearce and Wootton are untouchables but I don’t know what to do with Markel. He became central back and he’s a really good player there but he has got a lot of injuries and besides he told me he wants to play more minutes. All depends of his following reactions. Zukanovic has played well but he’s on loan and he’s 29 so it has been his only season with us. Wylde will not continue with us and we have signed Augustinsson to substitute him.

What will we do? We have to look for a left-footed central back to substitute Zukanovic.

Midfielders

Only Austin has got an average rating above 7. Amongst the other ones, only Cook has approximated. If we want to keep growing up, then we will need to improve our midfield. It will be where there will be more changes.

What will we do? Sloth and Mowatt won’t continue with us and we are looking for new club for them. Kuzmanovic will return to Inter. We’ll try to get Gil for less than £2.5M and if we have to pay it, then we’ll think about what to do. We have to find midfielders better than Murphy and Cook who will be a second option the next season. McManaman and Gil (or other) will be our wing options for the next year. We have to study what to do with Partey.

Attackers

Soriano and Astina are also untouchables. Sharp has helped us in few moments during the season but I think he hasn’t level enough for PL. Stokes has became important for us.

What will we do? We are trying to hold Stokes one season more (I think he deserves it). We are looking for an exit for Billy Sharp, who has been important for us up to now but I think it’s time to new challenges for both (he and we). We will study the option to sign a powerful and tall striker because we don’t have this profile of attacker (Astina 170cm, Soriano and Stokes 180cm).

@Mapashito: The boss has come back! Welcome! As you said, the difference with the Top-6 was very big but it is the hard reality. Now, without debts and with more money to spend maybe we can get to approach them. The main objective for the next year is to make a great squad to cope four competitions! We wouldn't be the first who lose the category after get an European place. Hugs!!

I guess that getting into Europe wasn't as far-fetched as orginally feared huh...

There's no words to describe what you've done so far...

You've stolen "Sotton"'s spotlight as the Premier's revelation, getting some wonderful results along the way (like the epic victory against Man U on Elland Road or those two draws against Chelsea and Arsenal last month).

But the hardest part is yet to come, since now you have to start planning a team competitive enough to hold its own while defending English football on Europe's stadiums next year AND being able to withstand the strain and fatigue that playing four competitions at once will bring.

Great job and good luck, this will be a really busy summer on Elland Road.

@Zlatan: hahaha Thanks mate. When I saw the remaining schedule and our position on the league table I couldn't imagine that we'd get into Europe. But that's the reality ; we are European team right now.

As you said, the most difficult is to come yet because it's so hard to cope four competitions with a short squad, so we have to work hard during the summer to sign enough players (quantity and quality). But the best issue is we are motivated to do it, we have enough fuel to keep working hard.

Viduka declara su amor eterno al Leeds

El australiano emitió un comunicado ésta mañana dónde afirma que no tiene interés en irse a ningún otro club

Mark Viduka ha declarado ésta mañana, mediante un comunicado oficial en la web del Leeds United, que no tiene intención de abandonar el club dónde ya triunfó cómo jugador y, ahora, cómo entrenador. El delantero australiano compartió exactamente éste texto mediante la web del club (traducida):

" Primero de todo quiero agradecer el interés de todos y cada uno de los clubs que se han interesado por mí des de que soy entrenador, especialmente durante ésta temporada que ha sido cuando más propuestas he recibido. El motivo de éste comunicado es el querer dejar claro públicamente mi interés en seguir cómo técnico del club que llevo en mi corazón hasta, como mínimo, conseguir algún título. Puedo asegurar que no tengo NINGÚN interés en cambiar de club ahora mismo, es más, hace unos pocos días recibí una llamada del que ahora mismo es el mejor club británico (y posiblemente de la historia) ofreciéndome un cheque en blanco para ser su nuevo entrenador. No quise ni reunirme con ellos, les dije que NO. Agradecí el interés y dije que en un futuro nunca se sabe pero que ahora, hasta que no consiga llevar al club de mi corazón a lo más alto, no voy a dejarlo. I'm glad to see Carles Gil as a part of the squad next year, He has now one year of experience in PL and I bet his season will be better than the previous one. With Beñat and Obiang, the team gets an interesting mixture of experience and youth, tecnique and strength. They complement each other and they have experience in big leagues. We need to reach the next level and we needed players like these

Will they be your first options as starters or are you planning to sign someone else there? Will you need any tactical adjustments in order to include them on your line-up?

¡VAYA TEMPORADA! Impresionante la posición final y grandes resultados ante Arsenal y Chelsea. ¿Cómo planteas la próxima temporada? ¿Tienes pensado hacer algún fichaje estrella para tener posibilidades en la competición europea y, por qué no, volver a repetir la clasificación en Europa? ¿O por el contrario les harás tener a los jugadores los pies en la tierra e intentar quedar en una posición cómoda en la tabla?

Por lo visto los aficionados del Leeds van a tener que empezar a acostumbrarse a ganar si Viduka sigue por aquí.

Como ya te dije en la anterior vez que comente, hoy te lo vuelvo a repetir: Pedazo de Temporada que has conseguido con el Leeds, Enhorabuena por la clasificación para la Europa League . Un buen logro para un recién ascendido, al que hemos visto luchar contra los mejores de la Premier League y conseguir sumar puntos, algo que es muy dificil.

Cerramos la Premier League en la septima posición, por delante de equipos buenos como el Southampton y Everton. En esta recta final hemos conseguido resultados muy buenos como el empate ante el Tottenham, empate ante el Liverpool, victoria ante el Manchester City, empate ante el Chelsea yempate ante el Arsenal, una pena terminar la temporada con esa derrota ante el Everton.

Ahora toca pensar en formar un buen grupo para disputar esta Europa League y seguir compitiendo bien en la Premier League. Lo que ya tenemos confirmado es la continuidad de Mark Viduka en el banquillo del Leeds habiendo rechazo ofertas de equipos con más nivel.
